Business Health Matters with Rossendale Leisure Trust
What is Business Health Matters?
The Business Health Matters programme has been developed to support local businesses in improving the physical and mental health of their employees so that staff are happier, healthier and more resilient.
The Active Lancashire led initiative is supported by a range of partners including UCLan, Lancashire Mind, UKactive, Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Chambers of Commerce, Sport England and Lancashire County Council.
By delivering training, health screenings and supportive interventions in workplaces, through a network of local authorities and leisure trust staff, employees are empowered to improve their overall health whilst employers benefit from increased productivity within their workforces.
Workplace Health Screening
The programme will upskill gym and leisure centre employees, so they are qualified to conduct health screenings within workplaces. The ground-breaking project will help to better identify ways in which employees and employers can start to address conditions like back pain, poor mental health or diabetes before they become life limiting or impact people’s ability to live healthy lives as they age. Additional benefits will include sustained employment and increased productivity.
Workplace Health Champion Training
Supported by ESF funding, the Workplace Health Champion Training project aims to support people aged 18+ who are in work, to develop skills to maintain or advance their employment.
The project will deliver free basic skills training, level 2 and level 3 Workplace Health Champion qualifications to employees in SME’s across Lancashire, empowering them with tools, resources and guidance to drive positive change in their organisation. As a result, a community of upskilled and passionate Workplace Health Champions will work collaboratively with our delivery partners and each other to continue to inspire and motivate their colleagues to live happier, healthier lives.
