Visit The Whitaker Museum
The Whitaker, Rossendale’s Museum and Art Gallery, set in the grounds of Whitaker Park in Rawtenstall. A little ‘gem’ of the valley originally built in 1840 and heroically rescued from closure in 2013 when it embarked on a loving and passionate journey of restoration and enhancement under the leadership of the newly formed ‘Whitaker Group’.
The Whitaker Museum has now partnered with Rossendale Leisure Trust offering events, hospitality and culture to the Rossendale Valley and wider community! The Whitaker holds amazing monthly art exhibitions, showcases past and present culture and has a fantastic hospitality space for public and private functions and occasions.
Showcasing various memorable collections, the Whitaker Museum and Art Gallery houses a Natural Heritage gallery, a Social History and Art gallery. And has impressive archives on display revealing the fascinating history of the Rossendale Valley.
