Health Referral Programmes

Rossendale Leisure Trust runs several schemes and health referral programmes that aim to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of the valley. We can support you in several ways to help you work on your own health and wellbeing. Whether it is physical activity, managing your weight or setting goals to achieve results in improving your wellness, there are several local schemes that can support you. Jodie English 

Health & Wellbeing Manager

As Health & Wellbeing Manager my role includes overall management of the Trusts fitness based activities, along with leading on our GP referral schemes including Weight Management & Cardiac Rehabilitation. New roles including Health Coaches and the Fitness Team leader are also line manged by myself. I have a background in fitness instructing/group exercise and believe that despite circumstance everyone should have the opportunity for physical activity to benefit their life’s in a positive way. Within my role I take pride in trying to engage the community with the Trusts values and creating relationships with partners across the borough of Rossendale

Chloe Frost 

Chloe is member of the Up & Active team and has been in the fitness industry for 5 years. Chloe has recently joined the team and is really enjoying the new challenges and meeting friendly faces along the way. She has been part of the fitness industry for the past 5 years which she finds really helps her during the Up & Active sessions. 

Chloe delivers many numerous sessions a week long side the daily admin tasks of the job. The sessions which Chloe delivers are gym, swim and fitness classes, accommodating for those who fit all criteria. 

I enjoy helping my clients to better themselves and look forward to moving on after the programme to a healthier lifestyle. 

Fiona Latham

Fiona is a member of the Up and Active team and has been for the last 5 years and is responsible for getting Rossendale fit and active! She has 12 years of experience and is still as passionate about her role as day one. 

I enjoy helping my clients make progress and achieve what they didn’t think would be possible, it makes my day. Meeting such lovely people and building those client relationships is also so rewarding, watching them come from Up and Active to then have the confidence to join the gym and attend alone with the knowledge of what they are doing makes me love my job.

Julie Kelly

Julie is U&A’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Manager, responsible for the managing and delivering C.R. support across Rossendale with 16 years experience!

I love all aspects of my job, from the colleagues I work with to the clients I support. The confidence I give my clients to continue with an active lifestyle and the appreciation I receive at the end of their rehabilitation keeps me motivated!

Janet Jenkins

Janet has been in the leisure industry for nearly 15 years now. She has been apart of UP and Active for nearly 5 years working as Weight Management and Exercise Specialist.

I’m a people person that loves meeting new people and learning about their lives and their backgrounds. I can almost always find common ground with our new members, and I like to think people can feel comfortable in my presence.

Chatting about health and wellbeing is something I love, and I pride myself on making sure people have the right information. When someone is well informed, it drives better results in their mental and physical wellbeing.

As an individual, I am ambitious and driven, I see myself as results oriented, constantly checking in with our member’s goals to determine how close or how far away we are and what it will take to make it happen. Plus, I thrive on challenges and constantly set goals for myself and my members, I love how this pressure inspires and motivates our members.
