Our aim is to provide a fun, friendly and welcoming environment for members to learn and enjoy their chosen activity. To provide the encouragement and opportunities to learn and experience the available opportunities safely while enjoying the wonderful facilities we have to offer.
Clowbridge Reservoir is approximately 400m wide by 600m long covering 90 acres, it is used for potable water, meaning the water is safe, very clean and rarely drained. The beautiful backdrop of the East Lancashire moors provides an idyllic location for enjoying those balmy summer days; however we are open twelve months of the year, meaning activities are only restricted due to personal preferences and inclement weather.
Our Club premises provide superb facilities for our members and guests, having catering and kitchen equipment, a large lounge area, meeting rooms and clean and warm changing and showering rooms.
There is ample secure car parking, a landscaped grass rigging area and an on-site boat park, all within easy reach of the water’s edge.
Although we originally mainly catered for sailing, as a Club we now encourage more activities on the water and the surrounding area, the moorland around the club is criss-crossed with bridleways and paths and the club provides a key access points to the Pennine Bridleway. There is excellent access to the surrounding moors and the marked Orienteering Course or onto the reservoir perimeter path installed in 2001 providing easy walking and access for wheelchairs.
