Try tai chi for free and see a fabulous performance of tribal dancing on Thursday 22ndJune at 1.30pm in Whitaker Park Rossendale.
Their Worships The Mayor of Rossendale Councillor Andrew Walmsley and Mayoress Ms Pat Smith will officially open the event followed by a performance by local Tribal Dance group Az Kabile and at 2pm, free tai chi with Lighthouse instructors David Pelling and Helena Kean.
Helena says, “This year’s theme for our free park events is ‘find your tribe’. This is a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, get outdoors and find a healthy activity that you enjoy. Everyone is welcome to join us in the park from 1.30pm, meet the dancers and have a go at tai chi.”
Lighthouse teaches 6 weekly classes in the Rossendale Valley and specialise in getting people started on their wellbeing journey. Participation is at your own risk, and you can do as much or as little as you wish. Families are welcome and there is plenty of room for everyone. No previous experience is required.
There is a second tai chi only event on Sunday 25th June at 1.30pm and both events will go ahead rain or shine. Come prepared for British summer weather.
