This comprehensive course is designed for individuals who require a thorough understanding of first aid at work. It’s particularly suited to those working in higher-risk environments. You will cover all the content from the Emergency First Aid course, plus:
- Managing fractures and sprains
- Handling severe injuries and illness
- Incident reporting
- Using first aid equipment
- Managing unconscious casualties
- Dealing with minor burns and scalds
Successful participants will receive a certificate, valid for three years.
Paediatric First Aid – 2 Days (or flexible sessions)
Duration: 12 hours (delivered over 2 days or split into shorter sessions across 7 weeks)

This course is designed for anyone responsible for the care of infants and children, including parents, carers, and those working in early years or education settings. It provides the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in a range of emergency situations.
You will learn how to:
• Understand the role of the paediatric first aider
• Assess emergency situations and act safely
• Provide first aid to an infant or child who is:
– Unresponsive and not breathing normally
– Unresponsive and breathing normally
– Wounded and bleeding
– Suffering from shock
– Choking (airway obstruction)
– Suspected to have a fracture or dislocation
– Experiencing a chronic condition or sudden illness
The course combines practical hands-on training with classroom-based learning, and is assessed through both a practical demonstration and a multiple-choice test.
By the end of the course, you’ll be confident in delivering safe, effective first aid to infants and children in your care.
