Our walks are designed for all abilities, with easy terrain and a steady pace to accommodate everyone. These walks are perfect for people who are new to walking regularly. 

With walks ranging from 10 to 90 minutes in length, you can choose the duration that suits you best.

Accessibility is key, and all our walks are reachable by foot or public transport, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to join us. Lace up your shoes, embrace the outdoors, and join our community as we embark on fulfilling walks around Rossendale.

Rossendale Ramblers – part of the Ramblers charity | Your Local Walking Group (rossendale-ramblers.co.uk)

Rossendale Ramblers is for the seasoned walker. They walk around 9-11 miles every Wednesday in the month. They also run 6-ish mile walks on three Sundays most months, plus a couple of two-hour pub walks every month. The group has around 170 members and is regarded as one of the friendliest groups in the area. After attending 3 walks you will be asked if you would like to join. There is a small fee to join.

Empowering Walk Club – PEP Enterprise website

Set up to encourage inactive women and girls to actively engage with exercise. They offer a good mixture of walks; short, flattish local walks, medium sized walks with some hills involved and then some challenging walks. All walks are displayed on the Facebook page.

They offer a variety of walks all guided by a professional, qualified Mountain and Lowland Leaders who are Outdoor First Aid and Mental Health First Aid trained. They provide guided group walks, family walks and offer navigation training with a National Navigation Award Scheme.

Newground Together
